Loch (Lo)

This is a minor map unit flanking the southern uplands south-west of Loch.

Geology

Developed on Cretaceous sediments and colluvium derived from these sediments.

Landform

Undulating rises.

Soils

Most of the soils have a dark greyish brown clay loam surface soil which grade into yellowish brown clay loams or light clays at about 35 to 50 cm. At about 60 cm pale greyish brown or pale brown light clay or medium clays are encountered which become brownish yellow with light brownish grey mottles with depth. Fragments of rock generally appear between 1 m and 1.5 m which may be colluvium or Cretaceous bedrock .

Land Use

All of this map unit is used for grazing.
