Habitat:

Subhumid warm-temperate regions having a winter dominant rainfall. Thriving on heavier soils, occurs as a weed of disturbed sites, mainly in arable fields and waste places (Parsons & Cuthbertson 2001). Native to Mediterranean region. Found on uncultivated land, in abandoned fields and ditches along paths and waysides. Prefers clay soils and temperate climates (Nuez & Hernandez Bermejo 1994).
