Habitat:

Found in South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia in open grassland among rocks – 800 – 2,000 m (Exell
et al 1963). Found in South Africa in climate ranges from Mediterranean in south-west to temperate in interior plateau and subtropical in north-east. Found in south-western Western Australia along a roadside and in peppermint woodland (Agonis flexuosa) in a patchy distribution on sandy coastal soil. Average annual rainfall is 1,000 mm. (CRC for Australian Weed Management 2003).
