Hydrological characteristics of soil relevant to Dryland Salting in Central Victoria

This investigation reported in 1981, by P R Dyson and J J Jenkin, of the former Soil Conservation Authority, was designed to provide detailed information on the hydrological characteristics of the main soils and underlying materials typical of the Western Uplands. The properties evaluated included infiltration, saturated hydraulic conductivity, porosity, field capacity and wilting point, along with the individual parameters, such as bulk density, particle density and electrical conductivity of the aqueous extracts.
