General Land Unit Description:
This land unit forms a small section of exposed non-marine sandstone along Salt Creek around Woorndoo. The soils are commonly strong texture contrast soils, although they do differ in the subsoil chemistry, with some soils being sodic while other have a strongly acidic subsoil. These soils are found in association with Podosols on the colluvial slopes, similar to this site.

Soil Profile Morphology

A1	0-25 cm	Very dark greyish brown (10YR3/2) loamy sand, pH 5.4. Gradual transition to:
A2	25-70 cm	Yellowish brown (10YR5/4) loamy sand, conspicuously bleached (10YR7/3) when dry, very weak consistence when dry, pH 5.4. Sharp transition to:
	Subsoil
Bhs	70-90 cm	Yellowish brown (10YR5/6) sand, moderately cemented organic pan, pH 5.7.
B21	90+ cm	Red (2.5YR4/6) sandy clay loam, mottled (10YR6/6), massive structure, very firm consistence when dry, pH 5.8.
