General Land Unit Description:
The unit consists of Grey Chromosols or Sodosols on the near level basalt plain in the Lake Wongan area to the north of Streatham. Minor areas of acidic soils also occur on these plains.

Soil Profile Morphology

A1	0-20 cm	Dark brown (10YR3/3) clay loam, ferromanganiferous nodules are common, pH 4.8. Clear transition to:
A2	20-45 cm	Light grey (10YR7/2), clay loam, sporadically bleached when dry, ferromanganiferous nodules are common. Sharp transition to:
	Subsoil
B21	45-70 cm	Pale brown (10YR6/3) medium clay, red mottles (2.5YR4/6), moderate blocky structure (10-20 mm), pH 6.2. Gradual transition to:
B22	70+ cm	Yellowish brown (10YR5/4) medium clay, yellowish brown mottles (10YR5/8), moderate blocky structure (10-20 mm), pH 6.3.
