Climate

Temperatures in the Goulburn Broken Region vary with topography. The mean maximum temperature is approximately 21°C whilst the mean minimum temperature is around 8°C.

Average summer temperature highs are usually around 30°C throughout the summer months, while often warmer in the north and considerably cooler in the southern high country. During winter, average temperature highs are approximately 13°C in the north with the high country closer to 4°C.

Mean annual rainfall varies across the catchment with changes in topography and ranges from 464 mm at Kyabram to 861mm at Lake Eildon. Mean annual rainfall in the high country can be up to 2000 mm. Landcare Victoria
