Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Reference should be made to the most recent reports. See the Earth Science Heritage section of the Geological Society of Australia website for details of geological heritage reports, and a bibliography.

Location:835073 (8422). 4 kilometres west of Kalima.

Abstract:
Marginal bluff of Gippsland Lakes.

Access:
Nyerimalang Jetty Road.

Ownership:
Private land.

Geology:
Jemmys Point Formation - sandstones and shell beds.

Geomorphology:
This is a steep part of the marginal bluff and includes cliffed sections exposing the Tertiary strata. Wave action and strong tidal currents inhibit beach formation at the cliff base.

Significance:
Local.

Management:
Footpath construction at the top of the bluff and on the bluff face is need to provide safe access to the rock exposures.
