Deddick River Cabanandra. Erosion gutter (A), along joint plane in adamellite.

Abstract:

Exposures of adamellite and faulted contact with Ordovician sediments.

Access:

Deddick River Road.

Ownership:

Crown Land (including road reserve).

Geology/Geomorphology:

Heavily fractured adamellite outcrops in the Deddick River cliffs up to four metres in height (1). Abrasion hollows occur at the cliff base and differential erosion along joint lines has resulted in the formation of well developed gutter. The adamellites is faulted against Ordovician sediments and these are exposed in a roadcutting on the Deddick River Road (2).

Significance:

Local.

Management:

The value of the site would be enhanced by the maintenance of clear exposures on the Deddick River Road.
