Location:

610274. 10 kilometres east of Cabbage Tree.

Abstract:

Exposure of quartz-porphyry dyke.

Access:

Watson's Track from Sydenham Inlet Road.

Ownership:

Crown land.

Geology:

A porphyritic rhyodacite dyke is exposed in a road cutting adjacent to Wire Grass Creek. The dyke is partially obscured by Tertiary sands.

Significance:

Local. Rhyodacite dukes are uncommon in the eastern sections of the study area.

Management:

Limited excavation to expose a larger section in the rhyodacite would enhance the significance of this site.
