Location:

017493. Spring Creek, west of Buchan Cave Reserve.

Abstract:

Waterfall in Snowy River Volcanics.

Access:

Walking track from Buchan Caves Reserve.

Ownership:

Crown land.

Geology/Geomorphology:

The waterfall displays an impressive 10 m section of the Gelantipy Rhyodacite which here consists of pink rhyodacite and rhyolite. Outcrops of more andesitic material occur downstream.

Significance:

Local. An easily accessible site which provides a good example of the general development of nick points in the harder Snowy River Volcanics.

Management:

The public of the site would be improved by facilitating winter across.
