8.9 A/B Perched Lakes - Carlisle River

Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Reference should be made to the most recent reports. Location:8-103278 (8.9A). 8-105275 (8.9B). Two kilometres south east of Carlisle River.

Access:

Off Tucker Orchard Road.

Ownership:

8.9A is on private land and 8.9B is partly on private land and partly on Crown Land.

Geomorphology:

Two small oval shaped basins occur on Tertiary sediments on the slopes of the Carlisle River valley. 8.9A is 50 m above the valley floor and 8.9B is 40 m higher again.
